SCN: Message List - SAP Information Steward

Hi!

In the developing of our Business Rules we have a validation that checks that the NAME1 for Customers is always entered in Upper Case letters.

The issue is that not all our customers are entered in Latin Characters, so we use to have a function in our WHERE condition in SQL to handle this

NAME1COLLATELatin1_General_CS_AS<> UPPER(NAME1)

Is there any way to do this or something similar to this inside Information Steward? We would love to be able to handle this inside the Rule development in IS and don't have to handle it by Data Base view or something similar.

I'm having that same error message in IS 4.2

I found that (in my case) it is some kind of bug or glitch. If I restart the server process (EIMAdaptiveProcessingServer) in the Central Management Console, then everything works and I can view failed data correctly.

After a few days, the problem comes back again and I have to restart the process again.

Mine is happening on SQL Server tables, not IS views.

We have a requirement to extract all the BOE user group-user list to excel/flat file

I looked under User Group in Metadata Management and this view displays the Application user count group wise but I would like to get a consolidated list in one go rather than individually selecting a group to view the user names. I also selected few groups to Object Tray and then tried to export to Universe/CWM hoping predefined semantic structure will be created, but getting an error there.

lastly, I looked under 'Reports' but couldn't find any predefined report for user list group wise

Kindly advise on how we can extract the consolidated BOE user group-user list from Information Steward. You help is really appreciated.

IS mostly for who has more knowledge on Business. If you already have an experience with ETL or BI, it is easy to learn the tool.

It will add one more skill set to your resume.

There isn't much provided from a reporting standpoint for Information Steward in general. To get the user list that you want you will probably have to create your own report and have it do the export to Excel.

You cannot extract the user group list frok IS. There is another tool like Query Builder will help to extract the information. And also there are user created macros availble to extract the information.

We have already explored the CMS Query builder route but it doesn't have an option to export the data output into flat file. Suggestion on macros appreciated.

BI40 Users and Groups Lists

Hi Everyone,

Currently we have a data quality initiative that focuses mainly on HR data. Do SAP have a repository of validation rules that could be applied off the shelf to measure the data quality in this module like Travel expenses for example.

We do see similar error when users trying to "view more failed data" . The message we see in the screen is "Cannot view failed data because failed date connection is not configured.(UID-10040)"

But we already have that setup to our SQL server in Data Insight connection. As Hannes said, it happens only when user clicks on "View more".

We didn't try restarting the server process yet as per Alan.

When I generate a view for data profiling, I clicked view data to view the records in the view. It is about 1300 records in the view,not that much. However, it had an error message saying timeout.

Does anyone encounter this before? Any suggestion on how to make the timeout setting longer? or the real cause of this kind of issue?
